Last January saw the founding of the coordinating body for performing arts fairs, the Coordinadora de Ferias de Artes Escénicas, which draws together some of Spain’s foremost showcase theatre fairs.
   Its mission includes seeking to provide member fairs with an opportunity to coordinate and get to know each other better, communicate and cooperate, as well as work together on joint studies and raise public awareness... This Coordinadora de Ferias de Artes Escénicas will also be the body delegated to forge partnerships with other organisations and bodies and serve as an authorised mouthpiece and representative before them.
  Although a similar organisation has existed in the past, this is the first time that an association of this nature has been legally instituted.
   It is currently formed by the following members, although membership is open to new applicants:

   The head-offices of the Coordinadora are located in Tárrega, with the chair being held by the manager of the local fair, or Fira (Pau Llacuna). The Showcase Theatre Fair of Castilla y León - Ciudad Rodrigo is represented by its coordinator and artistic director (Rosa María García Cano), in her capacity as member of this new organisation’s governing board, and she has been actively involved in its founding process since the beginning.
