TIME TO GET INVOLVED, TIME TO CREATE
From 26th to 30th of August 2014, the 17th edition of the Theatre Fair of Castilla y León is taking place in Ciudad Rodrigo, Salamanca. This event is organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Government of Castilla y León, in cooperation with other local, regional and state institutions. As a consequence of this institutional involvement, together with the collaboration with the private network of local business and of other entities coming from the third sector, the occidental area of the Region of Castilla y León will host again one acknowledged initiative for the performing arts field, referred to as “theWestern Fair”.
The Fair shows a firm involvement in the dynamics of the performing arts market, contributing to support cultural and creative industries linked to it. At the same time, it works as the fuel necessary to stimulate the field, to recognize the worth of the work of companies and other professionals in a path shared with hundreds of programmers and cultural operators that attend and get involved in the processes that the Fair encourages.
This is a Fair that looks for creating encounter points, which currently are more necessary than ever in such a difficult time; that contributes to open ways; that shows creative trends andthat stimulates the training of professionals and audiences. Definitely, this is a Fair that turns Ciudad Rodrigo into an island in which market opportunities are put together. But also the Fair opens a time to create: create shows, create audiences, create spaces and venues for arts, create moments of interchange, analysis and reflection upon the sector.
The Theatre Fair of Castilla y León gets involved in its territory, promoting initiatives of social and cultural participation coming from the performing arts field, generating dynamics of financial impulse and promoting job creation, and sets an example for cultural and familiar tourism.
With the implication of all these operators involved (institutions, professionals, creators, commercializers, communicators, cultural operators and audiences) the action of creating is easier and, doubtlessly, the Theatre Fair of Castilla y León is a project that creates an identity in such a large territory. |
